the swim races

The St. Croix Coral Reef Swim attracts fitness swimmers competing for fun as well as world-class open water athletes. Swimmers as young as 11 years old and seniors in their late 70’s make up the race field.  The race is typically held on a Sunday in early November.

The event includes a One Mile, Two Mile, and Five Mile distance through the turquoise water and colorful coral reefs.  All races end at our host hotel, The Buccaneer, on the palm lined Mermaid Beach.   Steel Band music, locals and visitors alike are at the finish line to cheer on our swimmers as they run through the palm frond finish line.  

Registration opens each year in January and space is limited so register early.
